Compensation:
$55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience and credentials

On-Call Expectations
Job Description: The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining overall facility operations including building systems, grounds, housekeeping services, and infrastructure. The role combines hands-on oversight with strategic planning, ensuring a clean, organized, safe, efficient, and compliant environment. The position requires working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems, and the ability to respond quickly to facility issues and emergencies. This position plays a key role in maintaining the hospital’s physical environment to support patient care, staff safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
Ensure adequate coverage and timely completion of facility-related tasks including vendor management and scheduling with minimal interruption to daily business.
Maintain clear communication with staff and other departments to coordinate facilities services.
Provide training, mentorship and feedback to staff as required.
Promote a culture of teamwork, service, and accountability.
Oversee cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards throughout the hospital.
Collaborate with hospital leadership to promptly resolve service issues.
Site Services and Maintenance
Oversee all maintenance operations for hospital facilities and grounds to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Coordinate and perform inspections of buildings, systems, and grounds as required.
Maintain equipment lifecycles and ensure proper functioning of critical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, med gas, etc.).
Administer CMMS software (Service Channel) and maintain accurate records of maintenance work orders and inspections.
Ensure Work Orders are completed in a timely manner.
Respond promptly to emergency repair needs, system alarms, and facility issues on a 24/7 basis as required.
Assist staff with internal equipment moves, setups, or snow/ice removal as needed.
Perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and minor installations as needed
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety system issues.
Complete repairs to building infrastructure, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
Utilize Service Channel to manage work orders, track tasks, and document maintenance activities.
Vendor and Project Coordination
Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Obtain bids via Service Channel and oversee vendor performance.
Procure vendor contracts for review by National Facilities as required.
Ensure proper documentation of permits, licenses, and inspections required for facility operations.
Review vendor service reports to ensure completion and quality standards.
Communicate project timelines, progress, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety
Ensure all maintenance and housekeeping work complies with OSHA standards, local and state building codes, and hospital policies.
Lead safety inspections, emergency drills, and regulatory audits with inspectors as required.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, and safety documentation.
Collaborate with hospital leadership and infection control teams to support infection prevention protocols.
Preventative Maintenance and Asset Management
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all building systems and equipment utilizing Service Channel.
Maintain an inventory of hospital equipment, major assets, and critical spare parts. Ensure asset tagging is completed for all new equipment. Ongoing asset tagging management is required.
Monitor and plan for equipment replacement to avoid unexpected downtime.
Infection Control and Environmental Safety
Collaborate with hospital leadership and infection control teams to support infection prevention protocols.
Oversee cleaning protocols for critical areas including surgical suites, isolation wards, and specialty departments.
Ensure environmental safety measures are maintained to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
Capital Projects and Facility Improvements
Participate with Ethos Real Estate team for facility renovations, expansions, or new construction projects.
Work closely with Ethos National Facilities team for ongoing Repairs & Maintenance at the site to prevent deferred maintenance issues.
Budgetary Control and Financial Management
Develop, manage, and monitor the facilities department’s operating budget, including repairs and maintenance, supplies, and contracted services.
Track expenditures to ensure alignment with financial forecasts and cost-containment goals.
Prepare reports on budget variances, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives.
Collaborate with hospital leadership and finance teams to plan and prioritize facility capital expenditures.
Ensure accurate documentation of purchase orders, invoices, and contract payments related to facilities operations.
Staff Development:
Develop training programs in safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response with support from Ethos National Facilities and NVA Group Compliance and Safety teams.
Emergency Preparedness
Direct and coordinate hospital staff in emergency situations demonstrating leadership and readiness in crisis situations.
Evaluate hospital teams’ proficiency in emergency procedures, identifying areas requiring additional education or resources to maintain a state of readiness.
Work closely with other hospital departments, including operations and emergency management, to ensure cohesive and coordinated emergency response efforts.
Customer Service and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities-related concerns and requests from hospital departments.
Maintain excellent communication with clinical and administrative teams to ensure support for seamless patient care.
Manage expectations and provide timely updates on facility projects and repairs.
Qualifications:
5–7 years of experience in facilities operations, including HVAC systems, construction oversight, and maintenance management.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility (veterinary or human healthcare) strongly preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising maintenance and custodial projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator systems, and building automation.
Experience using CMMS platforms to manage and track tasks.
Strong leadership, organizational, and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English).
Ability to prioritize multiple demands and respond calmly in emergency situations.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CMMS software, and reading blueprints/schematics.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements, local/state codes, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and respond to emergencies effectively.
Weekend Availability - Be available to work weekends as needed to support hospital operations and ensure leadership continuity. This position is on call 24/7.
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
