Licensed Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Hourly pay range: $30.00–$40.00 + Shift Differentials + Sign-On Bonus Up to $5,000

Full-time opportunity in Tacoma, WA

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 times per week. On-call shift rotation required once trained.

We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team. As an Internal Medicine Technician, you will be responsible for providing veterinary care for our patients, working with our veterinary team to provide high-quality medical care to both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable, have a positive attitude, and a passion for animal care.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide proper handling and restraint of medically compromised patients
  • Perform triage and intake skills/TPR, and apply critical thinking in an emergency setting
  • Perform technical procedures such as venipuncture, administering IV fluids, and catheter placement
  • Perform drug calculations and administer controlled and non-controlled medications PO, SQ, IM, and IV as directed by the veterinarian
  • Monitor, induce, maintain, and recover patients undergoing anesthetic procedures
  • Provide nursing care and treatment to hospitalized patients, and educate pet owners on post-operative and at-home care
  • Assist with advanced imaging (Fluoroscopy/X-ray/Ultrasound/MRI/CT)
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring

  • Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or board eligible
  • Minimum two years of experience preferred working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Experience in specialty medicine preferred (VTS in Internal Medicine encouraged to apply), but willing to train the right person
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work independently as well as part of a team
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
