Are you a passionate and driven leader with a background in operations and team development? Peak Veterinary Referral Center is looking for a dedicated Hospital Services Manager (HSM) to support and elevate the daily operations of our dynamic hospital. This is a full-time, 100% administrative, exempt position that plays a critical role in creating exceptional client experience and maintaining a positive, efficient work environment.

About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Hospital Director (HD), the HSM oversees the daily functions of assigned departments and supports operational planning, team management, and client services. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and team builder, capable of implementing and upholding high standards of care, service, and staff performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster effective communication across hospital departments and corporate teams.
  • Uphold compliance with all hospital procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and manage clinical and non-clinical staff schedules to optimize productivity while maintaining budgetary targets.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Director and Medical Director to deliver high-quality medical services.
  • Monitor and improve patient and client flow through all stages of care—from arrival to discharge.
  • Identify department needs and recommend appropriate staffing and resources.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that meets OSHA and hospital standards.
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate regular servicing.
  • Support departmental financial goals through budget input and expense oversight.
  • Partner with corporate teams (finance, HR, marketing, etc.) to align with broader hospital objectives.
  • Promote a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability among team members.
  • Lead recruitment efforts in coordination with Talent Acquisition.
  • Oversee employee performance, including evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure comprehensive training programs with a strong focus on client service and hospitality.
  • Participate in change management efforts and support organizational growth.
  • Address payroll, workers’ compensation, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Previous experience in the veterinary or animal healthcare industry highly preferred
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven leadership and people management abilities
  • Strong operational, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and disciplines
  • Experience with budget management, scheduling, and performance metrics

Peak Veterinary Referral Center is a 14,000 sq. ft. hospital providing state-of-the-art diagnostics, treatments, and 24-hour care for hospitalized patients seven days a week.

We offer referral services in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, oncology, radiology, and behavior. PEAK is the most comprehensive multi-specialty facility serving northern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

In 2021, we launched a 7-day-per-week veterinary Urgent Care service to support the non-critical medical needs of pets.
