SAGE Veterinary Centers – Concord is hiring a Senior Veterinary Assistant to support our Oncology department.. This position is ideal for an experienced veterinary assistant who thrives in specialty medicine and is motivated to grow within a highly specialized oncology team.
You will support oncologists and RVTs by assisting with treatments, patient care, diagnostics, and chemotherapy safety protocols in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with handling, restraint, and comfort of oncology patients
Support chemotherapy administration and oncology treatments under supervision
Adhere to chemotherapy safety and hazardous drug handling protocols
Assist with diagnostic testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, and imaging
Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization
Monitor patients during and after treatments and report concerns promptly
Provide compassionate support to clients throughout the cancer care process
Accurately document patient care and communicate with the medical team
Assist veterinarians and RVTs during procedures and oncology rounds
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting
Specialty or emergency experience highly preferred
Strong animal handling and technical support skills
Willingness to train in oncology-specific procedures and protocols
Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
