
Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center in Wilmington, NC is hiring an experienced Inventory Coordinator to join our growing specialty and emergency hospital team!
Compensation: $20.00–$23.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (with occasional weekends for quarterly inventory counts)

Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a dependable and proactive Inventory Coordinator to support our clinical teams by ensuring supplies, equipment, and medications are managed safely, efficiently, and compliantly.
🐾 About the Role:
As the Inventory Coordinator, you’ll work closely with hospital leadership and the Inventory Manager to oversee inventory control systems across the hospital. This role is critical to ensuring our specialty and emergency teams always have the tools and resources they need to deliver exceptional patient care.
✨ Responsibilities:
Partner with the Inventory Manager to establish and maintain effective inventory control systems
Monitor inventory levels, usage rates, and replenishment needs to ensure adequate stock
Receive, verify, and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage
Distribute inventory to appropriate departments and rotate stock accordingly
Monitor expired and soon-to-expire products and coordinate returns as needed
Track inventory costs and support proper pricing and markups
Stay informed on supply chain disruptions and communicate potential issues to the DVM team
Ensure compliance with state pharmacy and federal regulations, including coordination on controlled substances
Maintain accurate and up-to-date MSDS documentation for all drugs and chemicals
Coordinate equipment maintenance and quality control for hospital equipment (IV pumps, oxygen cages, Dopplers, warming devices, instruments, and more)
Conduct physical inventory counts as required
Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage and stock areas
Travel between hospital locations or local vendors as needed to obtain supplies

Strong multitasking, organization, and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Professional and effective communication skills with team members, vendors, and leadership
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Comfort working around sick animals, hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, anesthetic gases, and unpleasant odors
Flexibility to support occasional weekends, holidays, or urgent inventory needs
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
