Boston West is seeking a compassionate, motivated Specialty Clinical Supervisor to guide our specialty technicians and assistants while continuing to provide exceptional hands-on patient care.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Hospital Services Manager, the Specialty Supervisor plays a vital leadership role within our specialty departments. This hybrid position is approximately 75% clinical and 25% administrative—ideal for someone who loves staying involved on the floor while also supporting and growing their team.
You’ll serve as a key resource for the specialty teams, helping to manage day-to-day operations, support staffing and scheduling, foster team development, and ensure the highest level of patient and client care across specialty services.
Schedule Overview:
Enjoy a balanced blend of leadership and hands-on clinical work with a predictable weekly structure and some flexibility built in:
- Two 12-hour clinical shifts
- One 6-hour administrative shift focused on team development, operations, and project work
- Floating Hours: An additional 10 hours per week to be flexed based on hospital needs—offering a mix of autonomy and variety
This schedule allows you to stay closely connected to patient care while also shaping team success through impactful leadership.Compensation:- $35–$40/hour, based on experience and skill level
- Any hours worked between 11p – 7a: Base + $5 shift differential
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Way: Provide leadership, direction, and daily support to specialty clinical and client service teams
- Staffing & Scheduling: Monitor staffing needs, approve payroll, and ensure appropriate coverage to support excellent patient care and client experience
- Team Development: Conduct regular team check-ins, participate in hiring and performance reviews, and partner with training teams to support ongoing learning
- Client Care: Promote a hospitality-first culture, resolve concerns, and ensure every specialty visit meets our high standards
- Hands-On Tech Work: Support specialty diagnostics, treatments, patient monitoring, anesthesia, and client communication as needed
- Hospital Operations: Serve as the point person for department needs, equipment issues, and interdepartmental coordination
What We’re Looking For:We’re seeking a confident, capable leader with a strong foundation in specialty medicine. The ideal candidate brings prior leadership experience along with hands-on specialty clinical expertise.- Leadership experience is required — you’ve led teams, coached others, and handled supervisory responsibilities
- Specialty medicine experience is required (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, etc.)
- Veterinary technician background (CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay organized, adaptable, and calm in a dynamic environment
- A passion for mentoring others and driving positive change within the team
