Nursing Manager - Pensacola, FL - Full Time

The Veterinary Emergency Referral Center (VERC) in Pensacola, FL is seeking a full-time Nursing Manager to lead and elevate our Emergency nursing team! This is a key leadership role for an experienced veterinary nursing professional who is passionate about people, medicine, and operational excellence in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Compensation: $68,000 - $78,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials. Compensation increases with advanced leadership experience and clinical expertise.

Anticipated Schedule: Full-time leadership position, schedule will align with hospital operational needs including regular weekends.

About the Role:

The Nursing Manager plays a critical leadership role within VERC, partnering closely with medical and operational leaders to ensure exceptional patient care, efficient workflows, and a thriving nursing team. This role blends strategic planning with day-to-day operational leadership and is ideal for a motivated leader ready to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and communicate a clear vision for the nursing department aligned with hospital goals

  • Provide strong, visible leadership that supports excellence in emergency patient care

  • Oversee daily nursing operations, addressing escalated issues and removing workflow barriers

  • Develop and execute nursing strategies that support organizational priorities

  • Translate long-term goals into actionable, measurable initiatives

  • Mentor nursing supervisors and develop emerging leaders

  • Support ongoing education, skill development, and career growth across the nursing team

  • Build and maintain a resilient, high-performing team in a high-acuity environment

  • Monitor performance, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that promote accountability and consistency

Requirements for the Role:

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician/Nurse (LVT, RVT, CVT, or equivalent)

  • Significant experience in emergency and/or specialty veterinary medicine

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a clinical setting

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) required; multilingual skills a plus
