Emergency Veterinary Technician - Monroeville, PA - Full Time

Our mission at Avets is to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.

We are looking for full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician Caregivers to join our team. If you’re looking to advance your skill set and work in a fast-paced environment where every day looks different, we want to work with you!

Avets operates as a whole hospital team, offering opportunities to train and work with both specialty and emergency veterinarians. We pair new hires with a mentor to guide them through their introductory period. This is a full-time, hourly position, working either 3 twelve hour shifts or 4 ten hour shifts per week, inclusive of one shift per weekend and a portion of the holidays.
 

Compensation:

  • Dependent on experience, will be discussed during interview process
  • Shift differentials available!
    • $2/hr after 6pm on weekdays and weekend day shift
    • $3.50/hr after 6pm on Friday and Saturday

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Follow a structured training program.
  • Remain calm and efficient in a high stress environment; be adaptable and overcome challenging situations!
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with clients in a manner that supports Avets' mission to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.
  • Work with fellow team members to maintain a productive, positive and respectful environment. All technical staff, regardless of the level of experience, must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (12 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty five pounds.

Prior emergency experience preferred, but not required. Certified Veterinary Technicians or license eligible candidates will be given the highest consideration.
