Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is looking to add an assistant to our team. Our team values top quality medicine and works hard to stay up to date on the latest advancements and encourages continual growth.

About You:

Anticipated Schedule:

Three 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends.

Qualifications:

 At least 1-year veterinary practice experience as an assistant.

 Must be able to safely restrain canine and feline patients of different breeds and sizes, for exams, blood draw, IVC placement, administration/performance of treatments.

 Must be able to lift forty pounds without assistance and more than forty pounds with assistance.

 Assist technicians with obtaining radiographs, induction and recovery of anesthesia, and all aspects of patient care.

 Must be able to remain calm during a medical crisis and other high stress situations.

 Knowledge of surgical procedures, surgical instruments, excellent aseptic technique.

 Knowledge of cleaning, sterilizing (steam and gas), wrapping, and storing surgical instruments.

 Ability to multi-task and work well in a high-volume, busy practice.

 Must have excellent and efficient communication with team members, clients, and all hospital staff.

 Flexible with working past your scheduled shift.

 Have a love for animals and desire to help provide exceptional patient care.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
