Urgent Care Hours of Operation:
- Starting March 2025, Monday-Sunday 8:30a - 8:30p
Anticipated Schedule:
- Three 12-hour shifts
- Includes every other weekend
Compensation:- $15.75 - $20 pending skills leveling assessment

About the Job: As a Veterinary Assistant in the Urgent Care you will be responsible for:
- Obtaining and reporting vitals, prioritizing patient treatments and delegating tasks if needed
- Serve as intermediary between doctor and client for non-essential communication
- Collect and summarize detailed histories regarding patients that present through emergency room following triage with Technicians
- Communicate between doctors and technicians what treatments (blood draws, procedures, etc.) need to be done.
- Handle miscellaneous prescriptions requests, client callbacks, labwork entries etc.
About You:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; candidates from vocational co-op programs will be considered
- Ideally 6 months of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

Important Information:Please note that Veterinary Urgent Care does not provide 24-hour emergency care. We are not equipped to handle patients in life-threatening conditions. For patients experiences any of the following, we direct them directly to a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital:- Difficulty breathing
- Major trauma
- Ingestion of toxic substances
- Seizures
- Inability to urinate
