Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team. This full-time Veterinary Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on emergency veterinary skills while working alongside experienced veterinarians and credentialed technicians in a specialty animal hospital.

Compensation
- $17–$21/hour, based on experience and skills

Choose the schedule that works best for you:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (one weekend shift required)
- Four 9-hour shifts per week (one weekend shift required)
- Five 8-hour shifts per week (no weekends)
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians throughout the patient visit and treatment process
- Provide safe and compassionate restraint during patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare, disinfect, and maintain treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment
- Assist with outpatient appointments and inpatient care
- Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately during appointments and treatments
- Support the medical team in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous veterinary assistant or animal handling experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical or emergency veterinary environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Team-focused, collaborative mindset with willingness to learn
- Ability to safely restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
