Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking a Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator – Internal Medicine. This role is ideal for an experienced veterinary professional who enjoys building relationships with clients, coordinating patient care, and serving as a trusted resource throughout a pet's medical journey.
Working alongside our Internal Medicine specialists, technicians, and support teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless experience for both clients and patients while helping coordinate advanced medical care.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Hours TBD)

What You'll Do
As the Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator – Internal Medicine, you will:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Internal Medicine clients before, during, and after appointments
- Provide personalized communication and updates throughout a patient's visit
- Coordinate appointments, consultations, procedures, rechecks, and follow-up visits
- Review upcoming appointments and ensure medical records, referrals, and diagnostics are received and prepared in advance
- Monitor client communications and coordinate responses with the medical team
- Assist with treatment plan discussions and financial estimates
- Explain common Internal Medicine conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up recommendations within the scope of your training
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and client care teams to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Coordinate patient admissions and discharges
- Process payments, invoices, estimates, and financial transactions
- Maintain accurate client and patient records
- Conduct follow-up calls and assist with post-appointment communication
- Help guide clients through potentially stressful or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of veterinary experience required
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital setting
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology
- Experience discussing treatment plans and financial estimates
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specialty medicine, emergency medicine, or advanced veterinary practice
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary Client Service Representative, Veterinary Assistant, or similar veterinary role
- Knowledge of common Internal Medicine diseases and treatments
- Experience reviewing medical records and coordinating referrals
