Compensation

  • $22–$28/hour based on experience, technical skills, and skill leveling assessment
  • Could go up to $36 and even higher for VTS!
Schedule
  • Four 9-hour shifts per week between 7:00 AM–9:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends required

About the Role
Bulger Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our General Practice team in Lawrence, MA.

Our General Practice department includes 10 experienced General Practitioners and offers a strong clinical foundation for technicians looking to grow their careers in veterinary medicine. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys patient care, client interaction, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Whether you’re looking to strengthen your technical skills in General Practice or explore future pathways into Emergency or Specialty medicine, this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced and collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and exceptional patient handling
  • Obtain patient histories and collect vital signs
  • Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
  • Administer medications via IV and other routes as prescribed
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Perform accurate drug calculations
  • Maintain detailed medical records and patient documentation
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
  • Support hospital efficiency through teamwork and collaboration across departments
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive hospital culture
  • Mentor and support fellow technicians and team members as needed
Qualifications
We’re looking for Veterinary Technicians who are passionate about patient care, teamwork, and continued professional growth.

Qualified candidates will have:
  • Experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting
  • Strong technical veterinary nursing skills
  • Ability to perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement confidently
  • Knowledge of medication administration and drug calculations
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset
  • Interest in continued learning and professional development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment
  • CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials are welcomed but not required
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
