Are you a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Emergency & Critical Care who is passionate about hands-on patient care, training the next generation of technicians, and making a lasting impact on ICU development—without being bogged down by endless paperwork or management headaches? If so, we want you to join our team as the ICU Lead Veterinary Technician at Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care.
In this role, you’ll be collaborating directly with our Medical Director and Criticalist to shape the future of our ICU. You'll lead and mentor the team while playing a pivotal role in ensuring that our patients receive the best care possible—all while being deeply involved in ICU growth and development.

Compensation:
  • Competitive hourly rate of $30–$35, commensurate with experience
  • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
  • Sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced applicants

What You’ll Be Doing (and Loving):
  • Hands-on clinical leadership: You'll guide, train, and support ICU staff—focusing on critical skills development in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and emergency care.
  • Coordinate with our Medical Director and Criticalist to implement best practices, refine protocols, and ensure our patients get top-tier care.
  • Mentorship: Coach ICU technicians, train new staff, and lead charge nurse responsibilities—without the admin burden.
  • Impact patient care and ICU development: Your input will directly influence how we evolve as a hospital, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the highest standards.
  • Zero paperwork: Focus on clinical excellence, with no involvement in HR tasks, performance reviews, or timecard approvals.
  • Equipment & facility oversight: You’ll ensure that our ICU and surgical areas are ready and stocked, allowing your team to focus on delivering exceptional care.

What Makes You a Fit:
  • VTS in Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) – required
  • Licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (RVT, LVT, CVT)
  • 3+ years of experience in an emergency or ICU setting
  • A true passion for mentoring and shaping the future of ICU care
  • Strong clinical skills, ability to stay calm under pressure, and a collaborative team-player attitude
