We are looking for our newest member to join our dedicated team in the Emergency Department! 
About the job:
  • Fulltime position Friday-Monday swing shift
  • 4/10 hour shifts 
  • Triaging incoming patients
  • Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
  • Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
  • Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
  • Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
 
  • Compensation and Sign-On Bonus:
  • RVT: $25.00 - $40.00 hour
  • SVA: $25.00 - $36.00
  • $8,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 Hiring Bonus for Veterinary Assistants (for full-time, new to SAGE hires) for overnight roles.
  • $7000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $5000 Hiring bonus for veterinary assistants for swing shift roles.
  • $6000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $4000 Hiring bonus for day shift roles.
  • Shift differentials available! $3/hour swing shift, $5 overnight shift
 
The ideal candidate:
  • You are a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Technician with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You are able to remain composed during stressful & emotional situations while remaining motivated, trustworthy, and team-oriented.

Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as Senior Vet Assistant
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
