Schedule:

  • Four 9-hour shifts OR Three 12-hour shifts

About the Role:
You will play a key role in providing excellent care to our patients, including those undergoing oncology treatments. This position includes exposure to chemotherapy agents, with comprehensive training and safety protocols in place to support you.


Major Responsibilities
  • Patient Examination Support: Assist with all aspects of patient exams including setting up equipment, obtaining patient histories, restraining animals, providing take-home instructions, filling prescriptions, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients in person, over the phone, and via email to provide updates, gather information, and support the care process.
  • Exam Room Preparation: Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and ready for use. Record vital signs (TPR, weight, etc.) and enter accurate information into the medical record system.
  • Animal Care & Handling: Support daily patient care including cleaning cages, feeding, walking, and bathing. Monitor patients for cleanliness and comfort. Safely retrieve and return patients to and from their owners, ensuring IV catheters are removed and belongings are returned.
  • Hospital Admissions: Assist with admitting patients into the hospital for diagnostics or procedures, ensuring proper identification and recordkeeping.
  • Facility Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized hospital environment, including treatment areas, laundry, cages, and exam rooms.
  • Supply Management: Restock exam rooms and treatment areas regularly and assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Medical Recordkeeping: Accurately document patient information, communication, and treatments in medical records.

  • Previous oncology experience preferred
  • You are a confident, skilled Veterinary Assistant or Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
