Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4/10s Schedule, between the hours of 7am-7pm. (NO WEEKENDS and NO HOLIDAYS!)
Pet Emergency Treatment (PET), Alaska’s leading 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team in Anchorage, Alaska.

Compensation, Bonuses & Benefits:
Compensation
$28–$33/hr based on experience
Overtime compensation available
Sign-On & Relocation Bonuses:
Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for qualified candidates
Relocation assistance available for qualifying applicants:
$3,000 relocation bonus for a 1-year commitment
$5,000 relocation bonus for a 2-year commitment
Schedule:
Full-time position
Approximately 36–40 hours per week
Various shifts available including days, evenings, and weekends

About the Role:
As an Internal Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician at PET, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting pets through urgent and critical medical situations.
- Assist Internist with advanced diagnostic procedures, patient care, and case management
- Provide nursing care for complex and chronic Internal Medicine cases, including hospitalized and outpatient patients
- Obtain detailed patient histories, monitor vital parameters, and collect diagnostic samples
- Assist with advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures including upper and lower endoscopy and other minimally invasive procedures
- Coordinate and assist with advanced imaging procedures including CT, ensuring appropriate patient preparation and monitoring
- Assist in anesthetic planning and monitoring for patients with multiple comorbidities undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Calculate and manage continuous rate infusions (CRIs), fluid therapy, electrolyte supplementation, and medication administration for critically ill patients
- Perform advanced medical calculations related to drug dosing and treatment protocols
- Provide thorough client communication and education regarding diagnostics, treatment plans, and long-term case management
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Perform proper patient restraint and handling
- Prioritize and manage multiple cases while maintaining a high standard of care and supporting efficient patient flow
- Active veterinary technician license required for LVTs
- Minimum 2+ years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in Internal Medicine or a specialty setting. Experience with advanced diagnostics and complex case management strongly preferred
- Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient care
- Ability to work around anesthetic gases, chemicals, and zoonotic diseases. Comfortable working with animals, including those who are sick or stressed. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively support both clients and medical team members
- Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required for the role, fluency in multiple languages is a plus
- Flexibility to support occasional schedule adjustments
