Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center (ECVMC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Hospital Operations Manager to join our growing specialty and emergency hospital in Wilmington, NC.
This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished veterinary leader to partner directly with the Hospital and Medical Directors in overseeing hospital operations, employee engagement, financial performance, and strategic growth initiatives. What You'll Do:
As the Veterinary Hospital Operations Manager, you'll serve as a key member of the hospital leadership team, helping ensure operational excellence across all departments while supporting exceptional patient care, client service, and employee engagement.
Working closely with the Hospital and Medical Directors, you'll help drive hospital performance through effective staffing strategies, workflow optimization, financial oversight, recruiting initiatives, and operational planning. You'll partner with department leaders to solve challenges, improve efficiency, support employee development, and maintain a positive, collaborative culture.
This role provides exposure to hospital financial management, strategic planning, operational growth initiatives, workforce planning, and leadership development while serving as an important resource for managers and employees throughout the hospital.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Hospital operations and workflow management
- Staffing strategy, scheduling, and labor oversight
- Financial reporting, payroll support, and budget participation
- DVM production reporting and operational analytics
- OSHA compliance and hospital safety programs
- Technology systems, equipment, and vendor management
- Recruiting, onboarding, and employee development
- Leadership coaching, employee engagement, and culture initiatives
What We're Looking For:
- Veterinary hospital leadership, practice management, hospital operations, or specialty hospital leadership experience
- Experience managing staffing, employee relations, payroll, and budgets
- Strong operational, financial, and business management skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive organizational success
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience navigating a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to champion change, improve processes, and support hospital growth
- Experience with ezyVet or veterinary practice management software preferred
- Specialty and emergency veterinary experience strongly preferred
