MissionVet is a multi-disciplinary veterinary specialty and emergency hospital, and we are currently seeking a full-time Client Patient Coordinator (CPC} to help us continue to build our specialty practice and work in on our surgery team. Help to calm the clients fears and at times bring them refreshments, tissues, anything that will make their experience more comfortable when going through the stressful time of an ill pet.

Compensation:
- $16-$20/hr, depending on experience
Schedule:
- Full Time
- 4 x10 Hour Shifts
- Weekdays
Key Responsibilities/ Duties:
Client Communication & Support
Client Communication & Support
- Greet clients and patients; escort to exam room.
- Obtain and present patient history (medical, surgical, dietary).
- Collect vitals (weight, HR, RR, CRT/MM) and document in Smartflow/medical record.
- Communicate pertinent history to doctor; assist with patient restraint.
- Support technical staff with non-sedated procedures (injections, bandage changes, etc.).
- Prepare and label lab samples; complete and submit appropriate paperwork.
- Submit imaging requests (X-ray, CT, MRI) and assist with X-ray acquisition.
Financial & Hospitalization Processes
- Create and review treatment plans, authorizations, and CPR/DNR forms with clients.
- Input charges; notify doctor to review invoice.
- Admit patients, prepare kennels, create kennel cards, and generate Smartflow workflow.
- Collect payment in exam room or escort clients to reception.
Discharge Process
- Ensure medications are filled and ready before client arrives.
- Confirm invoice completion; follow standard checkout protocol.
- Review discharge summary and instructions with client, including medications and follow-up.
- Prepare patient for discharge and clean exam rooms between visits and end of day.
- Coordinate ICU/recovery owner visits.
Deceased Patient Protocol
- Facilitate euthanasia paperwork and body care coordination.
- Prepare and send sympathy cards.
Documentation & Records
- Document all client communications using CCOMs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient, client, and office records.
Hospital Operations & Support
- Assist with instrument prep, OR setup/breakdown, and autoclaving.
- Support other departments as directed.
- Help with gurney/cleanup/owner assistance calls.
- Maintain hospital cleanliness: laundry, restocking, mopping, sweeping, and cleaning exam rooms.
Qualifications and Skills Sought:
- At least 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary technician assistant required.
- A Certificate of a Veterinary assistant (CVA) is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills with a passion for assisting others.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Preferably knowledgeable in veterinary practices, pharmacology, medical terminology, and clinic procedures.
- Expertise in client service principles, including needs evaluation, quality standards, and client satisfaction.
- Proficient in administrative tasks such as word processing, file management, transcription, and email communication, as well as using computer programs for managing patient information.
- Familiarity with common drugs, their uses, brand/generic names, side effects, and controlled substance protocols.
- Skilled in social perceptiveness and adaptability to others' reactions to enhance client interactions.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
