Care Center in Dayton is looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to support the Emergency department!

Schedule and Compensation: 

  • 2nd shift- exact schedule to be discussed during interview process
  • Every other weekend is required
  • $18-24 per hour

Emergency Technician Assistants play an integral role in our hospital whether they are handling patient care, taking care of clients, assisting doctors, or providing quality nursing care. You will fully utilize your skillset and continue to develop your knowledge for years to come! We are looking for a compassionate technician assistant who is ready to put their skills and leadership ability to work!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other teammates to ensure excellent patient outcomes
  • Provide hands-on patient care in ER and ICU settings
  • Restrain and handle patients safely and compassionately
  • Maintain clean and organized treatment and hospital areas
  • Monitor patients and report changes in conditions to the medical team
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and emergency procedures
  • Participate in maintaining hospital cleanliness and infection control standards

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of clinical experience required (preference for ER or specialty experience)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to multitask while staying detail oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 40 (forty) pounds unassisted
  • Availability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
