We are looking for full-time Neurology Veterinary Technician Caregivers to join our team. If you’re looking to advance your skill set and work in a fast-paced environment where every day looks different, we want to work with you!

Avets operates as a whole hospital team, offering opportunities to train and work with both specialty and emergency veterinarians. We pair new hires with a mentor to guide them through their
introductory period. This is a full-time, hourly position, working either 3 twelve hour shifts or 4 ten hour shifts per week, inclusive of one shift per weekend and a portion of the holidays.

Job description
This is an hourly, full-time position, working 4 ten-hour shifts per week inclusive of the on-call shifts required by the department on some weekends.

  • Shift differentials during our non-traditional hours - additional $2/hour after 6pm on weekdays and during the day on weekends, $3.50 after 6pm on Fri, Sat and Sunday.
Successful applicants will:
  • Have prior experience in veterinary specialty medicine, managing appointments, prepping patients for the OR and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Venipuncture; IV catheter placement; medication calculations and administration; digital radiography; patient prep and recovery; epidural administration; anesthesia monitoring for a variety of anesthetized procedures including, but not limited to, CT and MRI
  • Assisting doctors during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education
  • Remain calm and efficient in a high stress environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with clients in a manner that supports Avets' mission to provide state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them.
  • Work with team members to maintain a productive, positive and respectful environment.
All technical staff, regardless of the level of experience, must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (10 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Certified Veterinary Technicians or license eligible candidates will be given the highest consideration.
