Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience

Job Description:
The Clinical Manager at SAVES is responsible for setting standards for all clinical staff. They will manage day-to-day functions including onboarding, training, skill assessments, communication, departmental rounding, staff meetings, operational efficiency, and continuing education of all clinical staff. Additionally, they will cultivate a positive relationship with the referral community within a given territory by bringing an understanding and respect for all Hospital philosophies. The Clinical Manager is accountable for setting long-term goals and facilitating growth of clinical departments. They will collaborate with their peers and serve as second in command to the Hospital Director.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for implementing appropriate standards of care, in accordance with the medical standards set forth by the Medical Director.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and bi-weekly meetings with Hospital Director (HD), Medical Director, and/or Team Leads to discuss providers, staff, patients, clients, equipment, medication, operations, & other pertinent information regarding patient care as well as provide guidance and address needs and issues in the department.
- Provide weekly updates to the HD on the current state of the hospital regarding staffing and provider needs.
- Outline training plans for each service and staff and provide monthly updates to HD. Coordinate training sessions: Create training agenda, training materials, and sign in sheets for all sessions. Hold bi-monthly meetings with all clinical staff to review clinical performance, training needs, individual and team Goal progression, individual morale and self-care opportunities.
- Set clinical staff expectations and goal manage disciplinary needs in a timely manner, while upholding the Ethos Veterinary Health Core Values.
- Administer and coordinate the Veterinary Student and Technician Extern program; and serve as the primary contact.
- Coordinate visits to medical departments and staff and complete required paperwork for each student.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with students before and during externship.
- Maintain communication with new hires and direct supervisors to ensure guidance is comprehensive and thorough during the training period.
- Choose appropriate training methods based on situational needs (class setting, simulated, mentoring, hands on training).
- Ensure that all clinical personnel are appropriately trained to function within their respective service.
- Coordinate training and confirm all students and the hospital are adequately supported.
- Support HD with all clinical aspects of the practice, as needed.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician required.
- Minimum 1 year of management experience, 2+ years ideal.
- Highly focused and results oriented, able to set goals and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Tactful, professional demeanor and presentation style.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations.
