About the Role:
This position combines ICU Assistant responsibilities with client care coordination for specialty departments. The role supports high-quality patient care while serving as a communication liaison between clients, DVMs, referring veterinarians, and the specialty team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ICU patient care including restraint, monitoring, medication administration, and assisting with diagnostics and procedures
  • Support DVMs with treatment plans, anesthesia, radiographs, and lab work
  • Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, updates, discharges, and home care instructions
  • Coordinate appointments, medical records, lab submissions, and case preparation for specialty services
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure continuity of care for hospitalized and discharged patients

Requirements:

  • Skilled in veterinary triage, diagnostics, and nursing care with strong knowledge of disease processes and pharmacology
  • Ability to perform treatments, procedures, and diagnostics efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt in high-stress or emergent situations
  • Excellent communication and client service skills; able to interact clearly and compassionately with clients and team members
  • Team-oriented with prior customer service experience and flexible availability (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)

Physical Requirements:
This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds (and assist with larger patients up to 150 pounds).
