Compensation:
- $16 - $21/hr., based on experience

Job Description:
The Neurology Assistant supports technicians and doctors during procedures, ensuring patients are properly prepared for surgery with thorough pre-op care, including IV catheter placement. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to patient comfort, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, eager to grow, and dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities:
The Neurology Assistant supports technicians and doctors during procedures, ensuring patients are properly prepared for surgery with thorough pre-op care, including IV catheter placement. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to patient comfort, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, eager to grow, and dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting technicians in anesthetic procedures.
- Assisting doctors during examinations.
- Setting up anesthesia equipment.
- Setting up and breaking down surgery room.
- Placing catheters, taking vitals and pulling blood.
- Prepare samples for outside laboratories.
- Assist technicians in administering chemotherapy.
- Setting up a radiology room.
- Housekeeping
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Assistant certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required
- This is a Full-Time position. Four days a week, 10-hour shifts.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays – On Call Rotation Schedule
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and be able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Strong work ethics and positive attitude
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes (up to 50 lbs. unassisted).
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
