Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is growing, and we're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our incredible team!

Compensation: $22–$28 per hour based on experience and credentials

Schedule: Monday - Friday 5 x 8's

What You'll Do

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll play a critical role in supporting patient care by ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic results.

Your Responsibilities Include:

Preparing, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory analyzers
Processing and running in-house diagnostics including:
- CBCs
- Chemistry panels
- Coagulation testing
- Urinalysis
- Blood typing and crossmatching
- Cultures
- Cytology and fluid analysis
- Serology testing
- Fecal testing
Preparing specimens for shipment and managing send-out testing
Entering, reporting, and releasing laboratory results
Assisting with phone inquiries and add-on testing requests
Preparing cultures for plating or shipping
Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and biohazard compliance

What We're Looking For

Required

Veterinary medicine experience
Previous laboratory experience

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

Standing and moving throughout a 10-hour shift
Frequent computer work
Working safely around laboratory chemicals and biohazard materials
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
