Veterinary Client Service Representative, VERC

Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is looking to add an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to our emergency animal hospital. Our team values top-quality medicine and works hard to stay up to date on the latest advancements and encourages continual growth!

Compensation:

• Starting at $16/hr, will increase with advanced knowledge & experience

• Three 12-hour shifts
• Overnight shifts, 7:30pm-7:30am
• Rotating weekends

A little about you:  A skilled and motivated representative with attention to detail, strong communication skills with both clients and team members, and the ability to multi-task with a positive outlook in a fast paced environment. You enjoy interacting and building relationships with clients, understand the importance of clear & effective communication, and are committed to outstanding client service and exceptional patient care.

As a Client Service Representative your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Promoting and maintaining exceptional customer service.
• Handling busy, multi-line phone system.
• Scheduling appointments for all departments.
• Act as a point of contact with referral hospitals to ensure all patient records are sent and received appropriately.
• Check clients in and out.
• Act as a liaison between clients and clinical staff, ensuring clear and concise communication.
• Support clients through difficult and emotional processes by maintaining professionalism and displaying empathy in all interactions. 

Requirements for the Role:

• High School diploma or equivalent.  
• 2+ years of Veterinary Customer Service or Hospitality Experience
• Basic knowledge of veterinary environment, terminology, and protocols. Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors. Experience with multi-line telephone systems, and proficient computer skills. 
• Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and transactions, and experience with de-escalation of difficult and stressful client or employee situations in a respectful and professional manner. Ability to promote effective communication between the CSR team, doctors and technical staff.
• Proficient in using computer and phone technology to manage appointments, records, and client communications efficiently.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to a consistently changing environment, with a desire to grow and adapt within the hospital and professional field.
• Attention to detail alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills with both clients and team members.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
