Facility Assistant – Veterinary Hospital (Full-Time)
Location: [on-site at Avets, 2674 Monroeville Blvd. Monroeville PA 15146]


Do you enjoy solving problems, staying organized, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? Our 24/7 Emergency and Specialty veterinary hospital is looking for a Facility Assistant to help ensure our building, equipment, and basic technology are always in top shape. You’ll work closely with the Facility Manager to maintain a safe, efficient, and fully operational environment for pets, clients, and staff.


What You’ll Do
Technology & Admin Support
  • Be the first line of support for basic IT issues (computers, printers, phones, network).
  • Help onboard and offboard staff with hardware and workstation setup.
  • Track IT equipment and manage maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors when needed.
  • Enter invoice data and support billing accuracy.
Medical Equipment Oversight
  • Maintain and schedule routine maintenance for medical equipment (e.g., anesthesia machines, x-ray systems).
  • Coordinate repairs and calibration with vendors.
  • Keep compliance and service documentation up to date.
  • Manage stock of medical gases and equipment parts.
  • Help troubleshoot minor equipment issues for hospital staff.
Facility Maintenance
  • Support daily upkeep of the hospital building (HVAC, plumbing, lighting).
  • Perform basic repair jobs around the hospital.
  • Serve as a backup point of contact for service vendors when the Facility Manager is unavailable.
  • Ensure the hospital meets safety standards (OSHA, fire codes, etc.).
  • Share on-call duties for emergencies (equipment failures, fire, evacuation).

What We’re Looking For
Required:
  • Experience in facilities, operations, or technical support (ideally in healthcare, vet, or lab settings).
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle urgent issues.
  • Team player with clear and professional communication.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and move equipment.
Preferred:
  • Experience with veterinary or medical equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA or AAHA standards.
  • Knowledge of networking or computer systems.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, HVAC, electrical) are a bonus!
