Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team and help provide exceptional care to patients with a wide range of eye conditions and surgical needs.
Working alongside our Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, you'll play a vital role in helping preserve and restore vision while supporting patients and their families through every step of their treatment journey.
Compensation
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): $24–$34/hour
Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS): $35–$42/hour

What You'll Do
As an Ophthalmology Technician, you'll be an essential member of the patient care team by:
- Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Calculating and administering medications, fluids, and CRIs
- Monitoring anesthesia for a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures
- Preparing patients for procedures and assisting with recovery
- Performing sterile surgical preparation
- Assisting the Ophthalmologist during appointments and surgical procedures
- Providing client education and guidance throughout the treatment process
- Advocating for patient comfort, safety, and exceptional nursing care
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Collaborating with doctors and team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care
Schedule
- Tuesday through Friday
- 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Active California RVT license
- Minimum two years of veterinary experience
- Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on anesthesia experience
- Comprehensive understanding of anesthetic monitoring
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
