We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Technician to join our centralized anesthesia team and play a critical role in supporting patient care across multiple specialty services, including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Neurology, Radiology, and Emergency.

Job Description
The Rehabilitation Technician supports the Rehabilitation Doctors with a variety of therapeutic treatments such as acupuncture, laser, underwater treadmill, etc. They facilitate efficient and consistent care for a variety of patients that have chronic or acute injuries. They collaborate with various specialty departments within the hospital to provide physical therapy to the patients in the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates outpatient care for the rehabilitation doctors --consults and rechecks.
  • Anticipates patient and doctor needs by preparing for treatments.
  • Prepare, use, clean and maintain underwater treadmill, TENS unit and all other equipment as needed.
  • Utilizes Ezyvet and Smartflow for documentation in the medical record.
  • Accurately obtains vitals and relays accurate information to the rehabilitation doctor.
  • Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
  • Utilizes technician’s skills such as catheter placement and venipuncture.
  • Administers medications by performing IV, IM and SubQ injections.
  • Assists with all diagnostic work ups to include radiographs, ultrasounds, etc.
  • Perform sedation or anesthesia on patients during diagnostics or exams.
  • Assist with the post-operative care of orthopedic patients in the hospital.
  • Performs treatment of the rehabilitation patients under the direct supervision of the rehabilitation doctor.
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Works in other areas of the hospital as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least ONE YEAR of veterinary technician experience is required in a surgical setting or anesthesia focus role
  • Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience
  • Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
