Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician (Full-Time) – Bulger Veterinary Hospital, Lawrence, MA

Are you a skilled Veterinary Technician with a passion for specialty medicine? Looking for a rewarding role where your expertise truly makes a difference? Bulger Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Ophthalmology Technician to join our growing specialty team in Lawrence, Massachusetts!

As our Ophthalmology service expands, we’re looking for a dedicated technician to support our board-certified ophthalmologist with both surgical and medical management of eye conditions. You’ll play a key role in providing personalized, compassionate care to our patients and their families.

Compensation:

  • $24 - $36 based experience and skills assessment leveling
  • Even higher for VTS!
Schedule:
  • Full-time (4 shifts/week in Ophthalmology)
  • Includes up to 3 holiday shifts annually in Emergency
🔍 What You’ll Do:
  • Assist with consultations, patient exams, and advanced ophthalmic procedures
  • Perform diagnostics: STT, tonometry, fluorescein staining, PLR evaluation, anterior chamber assessments
  • Prepare and maintain specialized microsurgical instruments
  • Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with our team on the care of hospitalized patients
  • Maintain exam room supplies and cleanliness
  • Support follow-up communication and ongoing care
💡 What We’re Looking For:
  • 2+ years of hands-on veterinary technician experience
  • Strong skills in anesthesia monitoring
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow within Veterinary Ophthalmology
  • Detail-oriented, compassionate, and collaborative team player
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • CVT, LVT, or VTS preferred (not required)
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
