Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency (CASE) is a rapidly growing, 24/7, 32,000 sq. ft. hospital located in Boulder, Colorado. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Oncology Technical Assistant to join our team!
As a Veterinary Oncology Technical Assistant, you will work as a part of the Oncology team to ensure exceptional patient care and provide overall support and assistance to all CASE departments, doctors, and hospital team members. The person in this position is a direct conduit for all CASE Oncology needs.

Compensation:
  • $19-$22/hr based on experience
Schedule:
  • Full Time
    • Tuesday – Friday
    • 7am-5:30pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Proficiency in obtaining thorough patient medical history  
  • Proficiency in admitting and discharging patients within the Oncology service.  
  • Demonstrate exceptional client communicationand education  
  • Scheduling appointments, procedures, and advanced imaging   
  • Proficient in obtaining medical records related to oncology consultations including referring vet bloodwork, radiographs, and advanced imaging. 
  • Proficient in dog and cat restraint. Practices proper and safe patient restraint of the Oncology patients, including while chemotherapy is being administered. 
  • Basic knowledge of disease processes and treatment options 
  • Restocking the department’s supplies, adding items to inventory, and completing daily and weekly cleaning/task lists 
  • Assists with processing and shipping of laboratory samples.  
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Veterinary TA certification or current enrollment in a technical assistant program strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ veterinary experience required, with technical assistant experience highly desirable. 
  • Strong attention to detail alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills with both client and team members, with the capacity to support clients in emotionally charged and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.  
  • Ability to work independently and with little or no supervision  
  • Ability to multi-task and produce quality work while making effective decisions  
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology. Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous material, cleaning chemicals, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to communicate well with other CASE staff members.   
  • Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
