Compensation: $18 -$25 based on skills and experience

About Us:
At Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology, we are a boutique style veterinary neurology-neurosurgery practice with a mission to deliver expert and life-saving care to pets. Our team of board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons counsel pet parents and veterinarians to aid them in making informed decisions about the best and most compassionate neurological care. SCAN and the team use gold standard diagnostics including high field MRI, digital radiography, electrodiagnostic (EMG), and CSF analysis among others to diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting our technicians and doctors while ensuring excellent patient and client care.

Patient Care:

  • Assist technicians with obtaining vitals and patient intake, patient restraint during exams and treatments, and administer oral medications as directed
  • Assist in the operating room during surgical procedures
  • Feed, walk, weigh, and monitor stable hospitalized patients
  • Prepare medications and process laboratory samples
  • Support client communication via phone, email, and in person, check in clients for appointments and procedures, and assist with payment collection as needed
  • Clean and stock treatment areas, common spaces, and surgical suites, maintain sterile instruments and prepare surgical materials
  • Perform laundry and ensure overall hospital cleanliness

About You:

  • Minimum 1 year of Veterinary Assistant experience required, 2+ years in a specialty setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of veterinary patient care, restraint, and basic procedures, experience with blood draws, assisting in surgery or scrubbing in, with a willingness to learn and grow in a high-level surgical environment
  • Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented mindset
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
