VESH is seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Technician Supervisor to guide our ER/ICU technicians and assistants while continuing to provide exceptional hands-on patient care.

Schedule Overview:

  • Four 9-hour shifts OR Three 12-hour shifts
Compensation:
  • $30–$40/hour, based on experience and skill level
About the Role:
The Veterinary Technician Supervisor plays a vital leadership role within the emergency/ICU departments. This hybrid position is approximately 50% clinical and 50% administrative—ideal for someone who loves staying involved on the floor while also supporting and growing their team.
You’ll serve as the go-to resource for the emergency/ICU departments, helping to manage day-to-day operations, support staffing and scheduling, foster team development, and ensure the highest level of patient and client care.

Key Responsibilities
As a Technician Supervisor, you will:
  • Collaborate with your co-supervisor and hospital leadership to support a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and sounding board for the technician team, offering guidance, support, and solutions.
  • Manage daily staffing needs by handling call-outs, adjusting schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Provide real-time and ongoing training for veterinary assistants, technicians, and ICU team members.
  • Deliver timely feedback and conduct performance evaluations, check-ins, and coaching conversations.
  • Guide team members during downtime by assigning tasks and activities that support patient care and hospital flow.
  • Direct staff to areas of greatest need and identify opportunities to improve processes within the ER and ICU.
  • Lead regular technician team meetings, including creating agendas, distributing notes, and following up on action items.
  • Model professionalism and adherence to the hospital’s culture agreement, encouraging a respectful and collaborative environment.
  • Provide in-the-moment corrective guidance and support staff development.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new technicians.
  • Attend weekly leadership meetings and actively contribute to hospital-wide goals.
  • Create and maintain technician, ER, ICU, and veterinary assistant schedules.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a confident, capable leader with a strong foundation in emergency medicine. The ideal candidate will bring both prior leadership experience and hands-on ER/ICU expertise to the role.
  • Leadership experience is required — you’ve led teams, coached others, and handled supervisory responsibilities
  • Emergency/ICU experience is a must—you thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Veterinary technician background (CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and adaptable under pressure
  • A passion for mentoring others and driving positive change within the team
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
