Schedule: Tuesday–Friday | Four 10-hour shifts | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Take your specialty veterinary career into advanced diagnostic imaging at Veterinary Specialty Hospital – North County. We're seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging team, supporting patients across multiple specialty and emergency departments.
In this role, you'll work closely with veterinarians, radiologists, specialists, and Advanced Imaging Technicians while developing your expertise in radiography, anesthesia, CT, MRI, and advanced diagnostic imaging.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will
- Partner with veterinarians and specialists in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and imaging procedures.
- Perform anesthesia support and monitoring, including intubation, extubation, vital-sign monitoring, recovery, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Obtain and prepare blood samples and other specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Position patients and obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs while following proper radiation safety protocols.
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging schedules across hospital departments.
- Assist Advanced Imaging Technicians with high-quality CT and MRI studies.
- Produce accurate diagnostic images efficiently while maintaining strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy and positioning.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging, anesthesia, and associated equipment.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, specialists, technicians, and other hospital teams.
- Participate in the department's on-call rotation and assist with patient care during Imaging downtime.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience in an animal hospital setting required.
- Strong veterinary anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring skills preferred.
- Proficiency in radiographic positioning, techniques, and image acquisition required.
- Experience processing basic laboratory specimens.
- Strong understanding of veterinary anatomy and patient positioning.
- Experience with CT, MRI, advanced imaging, specialty medicine, or emergency veterinary medicine is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative specialty hospital environment.
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) credential preferred but not required.
- Ability to participate in the department's on-call rotation.
Compensation & Schedule
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): $28.00–$36.00/hour
Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS): $35.00–$48.00/hour
Compensation is based on experience, skill set, and licensure.
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM | Four 10-hour shifts
