Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center (VERC) of Hawaii is a premier 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. We are seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine Team on a Wednesday through Saturday schedule. If you are passionate about specialty veterinary medicine and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Educate clients extensively on internal medicine topics, including disease processes, medications, and follow-up care.
- Obtain and process laboratory samples (e.g., blood, urine, fluid aspirates).
- Utilize imaging modalities, such as radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT scans.
- Perform, monitor, and recover patients undergoing sedation and anesthesia.
- Deliver compassionate nursing care and comfort to all patients.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the responsibilities listed above and possess the following skills and experience:
Skills & Experience
- General nursing care and treatment of veterinary patients.
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia.
- Assisting veterinarians with procedures and diagnostics.
- Admitting and discharging patients.
- Communicating effectively with clients and educating them about their pet’s care.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician is preferred but not mandatory.
