Join Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital as an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician and grow your skills in a Level 1 Emergency & Critical Care specialty hospital with advanced surgery, MRI, CT, and collaborative specialty care.
Compensation
- $24–$38/hour, based on experience and skills
- Higher rates available for VTS technicians
- 3 12-hour shifts per week
- Wednesday/Thursday, plus alternating Friday/Saturday

- Assist in managing anesthesia cases while collaborating with board-certified specialists and VTS technicians
- Perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures alongside each surgeon
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Execute, monitor, and recover assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- Assist with operating room duties as a nurse and scrub-in technician during orthopedic surgeries
- Provide comfort, advocacy, and high-quality nursing care for every patient
- Experienced Veterinary Technician, Vet Tech, CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
- Anesthesia, surgery, specialty, emergency, or critical care experience preferred
- Strong patient monitoring, technical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty veterinary environment
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
