This leadership role is ideal for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Senior Veterinary Assistant ready to combine advanced clinical care with team mentorship in a high‑acuity environment.

About the Role
As the CCU Clinical Lead, you will provide hands‑on clinical support for critically ill and hospitalized patients while leading and developing a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants. You’ll work closely with board‑certified Criticalists, emergency doctors, and hospital leadership to ensure excellent patient outcomes and smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support RVTs and Veterinary Assistants within the Critical Care Unit
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety for critical and ICU patients
- Provide hands‑on training, mentorship, and clinical development for CCU staff
- Assist with advanced case management, including triage, ventilator support, anesthesia monitoring, and intensive care protocols
- Partner with doctors and leadership to support workflow, staffing, and hospital goals
- Support emergency case flow and client communication for critical patients
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of recent veterinary clinical experience
- Emergency and/or critical care experience strongly preferred
Preferred:
- Active California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
- Strong skills in medication calculations, anesthesia monitoring, triage, and ICU care
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Compensation & Benefits
