We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant to join our Critical Care Department. This is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the clinical team, optimizing department workflows, mentoring staff, and ensuring top-tier patient and client care.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor CCU technicians and assistants; promote a supportive, learning-focused environment.
- Schedule & Staffing: Coordinate department schedules and adjust staffing levels to meet clinical demands.
- Training & SOPs: Assist with developing and implementing department protocols, training programs, and onboarding processes.
- Clinical Duties: Provide hands-on nursing care including triage, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and client communication.
- Operational Support: Step into clinical shifts as needed to maintain workflow and coverage.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments and hospital leadership to maintain high standards of care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience.
- Valid CA RVT license or VACSP (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
- Proven ability to calculate drug dosages, monitor anesthesia, and perform technical emergency procedures.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure clinical situations.
- Full-time (4x10 hour shifts per week)
- Hourly rate: $30–$45/hour, DOE
