About the Role: Surgery Veterinary Technician
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Anesthesia Monitoring: Intubating/extubating patients, monitoring anesthesia, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Diagnostic Support: Collecting and preparing blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Equipment Knowledge: Maintaining expertise in the use and application of surgical tools and materials.
- Surgical Assistance: Performing sterile scrub duties and assisting veterinarians with procedures such as abdominal explorations, cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, thoracotomies, and laparoscopic/arthroscopic surgeries.
- Patient Care: Monitoring and maintaining patient vitals during all stages (awake, sedated, and anesthetized) and advocating for patient comfort and safety.
Your Skills and Qualifications
We’re seeking a skilled, compassionate professional with the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in calculating and administering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
- Strong record-keeping skills for tracking treatments, procedures, supplies, and anesthetic details.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical records related to patient care.
- Expertise in anesthetic monitoring.
- Preferred: RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS certification.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a commitment to building long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
- A positive outlook, professional composure, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.
