Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
Rotating on-call schedule | Approximately 1–2 shifts per week

We're seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team and work alongside two Board-Certified Neurologists providing advanced diagnostics, anesthesia, neurosurgical support, and specialty nursing care.

Neurology offers tremendous variety and opportunities to expand your technical skills. You'll work with advanced imaging, complex medical cases, anesthesia, and neurosurgery while playing an important role throughout each patient's treatment and recovery.

You'll also have a consistent four-day schedule while participating in a rotating on-call schedule that provides additional earning opportunities.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
  • Prepare patients for advanced Neurology diagnostics, procedures, and neurosurgery.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
  • Provide anesthesia monitoring for MRI, CT, surgical procedures, and other advanced diagnostics.
  • Perform sterile surgical preparation and assist the Neurology team during procedures.
  • Provide advanced nursing care and monitor patients throughout treatment and recovery.
  • Support Neurologists during appointments and communicate with clients throughout their pet's treatment journey.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment documentation, and anesthesia records.
  • Advocate for patient comfort and safety while collaborating closely with Neurologists, Veterinary Technicians, and hospital teams.

What You Bring

  • Active and current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
  • Minimum of two years of veterinary clinical experience.
  • Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on anesthesia monitoring experience required.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations, and CRIs.
  • Neurology, Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency, Critical Care, or Specialty veterinary experience preferred.
  • Experience with MRI, CT, advanced imaging, or surgical procedures is highly desirable.
  • Strong critical-thinking, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a highly collaborative specialty team.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care, client service, and patient advocacy.
  • Ability to participate in the rotating on-call schedule.

Compensation & On-Call Opportunity

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): $24.00–$34.00/hour

Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS): $35.00–$42.00/hour

On-call technicians are eligible for additional earning opportunities when called in for procedures:

  • $250 bonus per procedure
  • MRI + Surgery performed on the same patient = $500 call-in bonus
