We are currently looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager to join our team at Premier Veterinary Group in Chicago. This is an on-site position and will support all three of our Chicago area locations - Chicago, Orland Park and Grayslake (soon to be Mundelein).

This position is responsible for performing Human Resource (HR) related activities and working closely with the Hospital Directors in each location on key initiatives that drive employee satisfaction, operational excellence and business performance. Provide the tools necessary to uphold our company’s mission statement and culture. These activities include compliance, employee relations, training and development, policy development and interpretation, and onboarding.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the hospital and Ethos Veterinary Health.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with management team ensuring HR strategies, processes and practices are implemented in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Conduct investigations as needed and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Communicate hospital policies and procedures to all employees and ensure hospital standards are met.
  • Provide purposeful coaching and feedback to all levels of employees, addressing various employee related issues and business needs.
  • Act as liaison between staff and management for guidance regarding company policies, practices, and regulations. Provide advice, assistance, follow-up, and documentation.
  • Ensure timely onboarding and conduct new employee orientation.
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and complete periodic audits of forms.
  • Administer leave of absences in line with relevant employee law.
  • Administer interactive dialogue processes for ADA accommodations process. Advise managers on the ADA process and company obligations.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Advise department managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline process and on employment issues.
  • Develop employee engagement activities and work with Hospital Leadership on culture initiatives.
  • Work with the hospital director on staff appreciation events and plans.
  • Answer inquiries from inside and outside of Ethos involving employment verification.
  • Conduct exit interviews in a timely manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions.
  • Experience in a Health Care setting preferred, with veterinary experience desirable (in any role).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication. Ability to present to groups. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Must have significant employee relations experience.
  • Must have significant ADA and FMLA experience.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to support 24/7 operations as needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed between both of the sites you will support.
Compensation is based on experience and will range from $80-85K annually.
This position will also receive a 10% discretionary bonus.
