Welcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. The AESC Team is growing, and we are seeking motivated, positive and compassionate individuals to join our team. Compensation
- $18 - $21/hr., based on experience

Emergency Assistants play a vital support role in providing urgent and intensive care to animals in critical conditions under the supervision of veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.
- Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.
- Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.
- Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
- Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technician
- Clean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.
- Assist in Ultrasound if needed.
- Laundry
- Basic grooming as needed.
- Other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
- Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that required animal restraint and taking radiographs
- Experience in a emergency/specialty setting
- Knowledge of EasyVet or similar medical record systems.
