Compensation:
- $17 - $19/hr. based on experience
- Full- Time
- Flexible scheduling options including day shift, mid- shift, night/ overnight shift
- One weekend shift per week required
Job Description:
The Veterinary Assistant will provide support to our emergency department. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, works well independently, and enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to all clinical departments as needed.
- Remain accessible and respond to requests for assistance throughout the hospital.
- Assist with patient care, restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and radiographs.
- Monitor Blood Bank appointments and assist with patient flow.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including running in-house tests and submitting samples.
- Communicate effectively with clients, doctors, and hospital staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing departmental needs.
- Experience handling a variety of patient species, including exotics, is a plus.
- Basic computer and medical terminology knowledge required.
- CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) preferred
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
