Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team in Estero, FL. This is a full-time opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys emergency medicine, working as part of a collaborative team, and continuing to build their clinical skills.

Schedule
Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week
Swing Shifts, 2PM - 12AM
Specific days of the week to be determined, 1 weekend shift per week required
Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Technician on the Emergency team, you will provide hands-on patient care and technical support in a fast-paced emergency and specialty veterinary hospital.
Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients
Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care, safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other veterinary patients, perform and assist with diagnostic procedures, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, phlebotomy and venipuncture, anesthesia and patient monitoring, preparing and administration of medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the medical team, maintain accurate and timely medical records, and assist with upkeep of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies
Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care
Work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, assistants, and client care team members
Continue developing technical and clinical skills through training and professional development
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
Emergency veterinary experience preferred, LVT certification is prioritized
Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and patient care
Experience with patient restraint and handling, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy and venipuncture, anesthesia and patient monitoring, and veterinary laboratory equipment and procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative veterinary team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to compassionate patient care and excellent client service
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
