Compensation

  • $25-$34/hour, based on skills assessment and technician leveling
  • Overnight differential (11:00pm-7:00am): Additional $5/hour
  • Clear pathways for advancement and increased compensation through skill development and clinical growth
Schedule
  • Typically three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Current scheduling needs are focused on evening and overnight coverage:
    • 4:00pm-4:00am
    • 7:00pm-7:00am
  • While not every shift will be overnight, flexibility to support these hours as needed is important

Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Technician in our Emergency & Critical Care department, you will:
  • Triage incoming emergency patients with confidence and compassion
  • Support pet owners during emotionally challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians on diagnostics, treatments, and case management
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with advanced imaging procedures
  • Administer treatments and medications as directed
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide exceptional nursing care
  • Execute and monitor anesthetic events with precision and attention to detail
  • Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining accurate medical records
Qualifications
  • Licensed, Registered, or Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) eligible to work in New York State
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong foundation in inpatient nursing care, venipuncture, radiology, and laboratory procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency veterinary environment
  • Positive attitude with a team-oriented approach to patient care
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute to hospital-wide success
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
