ARISE is hiring a full time Oncology Veterinary Technician Assistant
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience
Full Time opportunity in Queen Creek, AZ
Schedule: Full-Time 3 12-hour shifts, including one weekend day. Day, mid, overnight shifts available

In your day-to-day, you will:
Deliver exceptional patient care by helping ensure every patient is safe, comfortable, clean, and well cared for throughout their emergency visit.
Assist the veterinary team with the care and treatment of emergency and hospitalized patients under the direction of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Support patient intake and triage by obtaining basic patient information, assisting with initial assessments, and promptly communicating concerns to the clinical team.
Provide compassionate patient support through handling, restraint, feeding, walking, cleaning, and other nursing and husbandry tasks.
Assist with procedures, treatments, diagnostics, and patient monitoring as directed by the veterinary team.
Help prepare treatment areas, exam rooms, equipment, and supplies so the team is ready to care for patients efficiently.
Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care areas while following hospital safety and infection-control protocols.
Support your team by communicating effectively, jumping in where needed, and helping maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide compassionate client service by keeping pet owners informed, supported, and confident in their pet’s care while working within the appropriate scope of the role.
Help maintain accurate patient records and communicate important patient observations to veterinary technicians and doctors.
Contribute to a collaborative hospital culture where teamwork, respect, compassion, and continuous learning are valued.

What You Bring:
Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal hospital, emergency clinic, or veterinary-related setting preferred.
Knowledge or experience in emergency veterinary medicine, triage, ICU, outpatient care, or veterinary patient care preferred.
Experience providing quality nursing and husbandry care to dogs and cats.
Familiarity with common veterinary medical terminology.
Basic understanding of veterinary procedures and pharmacology.
Ability to safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients.
Willingness and ability to learn new veterinary skills, procedures, and protocols.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Compassion, patience, and empathy when working with clients and their pets.
Ability to recognize changes in a patient's condition and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinary team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and stay organized in a busy emergency environment.
A collaborative mindset and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in high-pressure and emotionally sensitive situations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary team and take direction from veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Education, training, or experience in the veterinary field is preferred.
