Per Diem ER/CCU Veterinary Technician
$25–$40/hour RVT | $25–$36/hour SVA | Campbell, CA | Per Diem
Schedule: Casual/per diem status with extra shifts available as needed. This is a flexible opportunity for veterinary technicians looking to pick up additional shifts in a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital.
SAGE Campbell is hiring Per Diem ER/CCU Veterinary Technicians to support our Emergency and Critical Care Unit (ER/CCU). Candidates must have 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience. RVTs and veterinary technicians with emergency or specialty experience are strongly preferred.
In Your Day-to-Day You Will
Provide clinical support to veterinarians caring for emergency and critical care patients
Assist with patient care, treatment, monitoring, and other veterinary clinical procedures
Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and members of the veterinary team
Perform accurate mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other clinical calculations
Maintain accurate and confidential patient and client information
Follow hospital protocols and safety standards while providing high-quality patient care
Work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and other hospital team members
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
Emergency or specialty veterinary experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to interact with clients and team members with tact, patience, professionalism, and discretion
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate clinical calculations
Must maintain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain one within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role
VACSP requirement is waived for individuals who hold a valid California RVT license
