Facilities & Information Technology Manager

Location: Nashville and Clarksville, TN

Schedule: Full-Time | Multi-site, 24/7 veterinary hospital operations

Compensation: $60,000-70,000 

The Facilities & Information Technology Manager independently supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the Nashville and Clarksville veterinary hospitals. This hands-on, multi-site role oversees facilities maintenance, equipment readiness, vendor coordination, preventive maintenance, basic technology support, and operational safety while partnering with hospital leadership and authorized IT resources.

Schedule

• Full-Time position supporting both Nashville and Clarksville hospitals

• Schedule may require flexibility based on hospital operational needs

• Occasional after-hours response may be required for facility or equipment emergencies

• 24/7 veterinary hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-site facilities operations: Develop, maintain, and document preventive maintenance schedules for buildings, grounds, utilities, shared equipment, and assigned clinical equipment across both hospitals. Conduct routine inspections, prioritize facility issues, complete appropriate hands-on repairs, and coordinate specialized or regulated work with qualified vendors.

• Coordinate facility services and repairs: Manage work orders, emergency repairs, janitorial services, pest control, waste and recycling services, compost, grounds maintenance, snow response, and other assigned facility services. Coordinate planned service interruptions with hospital leadership to minimize disruption to patient care and 24/7 operations.

• Maintain medical equipment and environmental readiness: Coordinate preventive maintenance, cleaning, testing, calibration, certification, and repair of assigned medical and support equipment, including pumps, autoclaves, scales, laboratory equipment, kennels, laundry equipment, and related systems. Monitor oxygen and nitrogen quantities and communicate replenishment needs as needed.

• Support hospital safety and life-safety readiness: Complete recurring environmental and life-safety checks involving eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, battery-powered smoke detectors, filters, alarm permits, and seasonal preparations. Support inspections, drills, corrective actions, documentation, and other safety-readiness activities.

• Coordinate basic information technology support: Monitor and respond to IT and Facilities requests according to priority, providing or coordinating basic support for computers, printers, phones, peripherals, cabling, technology equipment moves, and approved system restarts. Coordinate access control updates for new employees and approved user changes.

• Escalate specialized technology and clinical-system issues: Maintain appropriate boundaries around assigned permissions and escalate cybersecurity, network, software, server, clinical-system, and complex access issues to authorized IT resources. Maintain clear technology asset, service, and troubleshooting records for future reference.

• Manage vendors, projects, and financial stewardship: Obtain and compare vendor quotes, clarify scopes of work, schedule services, monitor progress, and verify satisfactory completion. Support renovations, installations, equipment moves, and facility improvement projects while tracking assigned operating expenses, project costs, risks, and emerging needs.

• Provide communication and after-hours support: Communicate facility, equipment, technology, and operational concerns promptly to hospital leadership and appropriate support resources. Respond to after-hours repair or emergency calls as assigned, using sound judgment regarding immediate response, vendor escalation, and operational risk, and perform other related duties based on hospital needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, trade credential, facilities certification, information technology training, or related education preferred.

• Four or more years of progressive facilities, maintenance, operations, or related experience, preferably in healthcare, veterinary, laboratory, or 24/7 operations.

• Demonstrated hands-on maintenance experience and proficiency using common hand and power tools.

• Working knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, vendor management, workplace safety, and project coordination.

• Ability to use blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing devices as appropriate.

• Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, work-order or ticketing systems, documentation, and basic technology troubleshooting.

• Strong initiative and ability to work independently, with excellent organization, follow-through, attention to detail, time management, professional communication, and customer service skills.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned hospitals.

• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, speak, see, hear, and use hands, wrists, and arms repetitively throughout the workday.

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with assistance or equipment when appropriate.

• Able to work indoors and outdoors and around noise, odors, animal dander, bodily fluids, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, and potential zoonotic hazards.

• Able to work in a busy, fast-paced, 24/7 veterinary hospital environment and occasionally work beyond scheduled hours when operationally necessary.
