The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI is hiring a full- time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team!
Schedule and Compensation:
- 4/ 10 hour shifts each week, no weekends!
- $25 and higher, depending on experience
- CVT required
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience
- Preferred: 1+ years of veterinary oncology experience
- Strong interest in oncology and keen ability to apply knowledge and advance quickly.
- Technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is needed.
- Work closely with Board-Certified Oncologists to manage complex cases and administer life-saving treatments
- Understand the safety protocols for safe administration of chemotherapy.
- Set up chemotherapy procedures, and perform chemotherapy administration.
- Assist in facilitation of imaging and sedation for minor medical procedures.
- Retrieve and prepare medical records in advance of patient visits.
- Acquire complete medical history and assist with treatment recommendations provided by Oncologist.
- Perform all types of venipuncture for all types of blood work and carry out treatment orders to patients.
- Complete estimates, basic record keeping, and update patient charges
- Other duties as needed
