Compensation

  • $22–$28/hour based on knowledge, skills, and experience
Schedule
  • Four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend and holiday rotation may be required based on hospital needs

Responsibilities
As a Central Sterile Technician, you will play a key role in supporting all hospital departments by maintaining cleanliness, sterility, organization, and surgical readiness throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate closely with department supervisors to ensure adequate sterile supplies and instrumentation are available to support daily caseload demands
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments, packs, and medical equipment throughout the hospital
  • Prepare, disinfect, break down, and set up surgical suites before and after procedures
  • Operate and monitor steam and ETO sterilizers in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards
  • Perform routine testing of autoclaves and accurately document results
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical instruments and sterilization equipment to ensure proper function
  • Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates of sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical materials
  • Maintain proper disinfection and processing of linens used within surgical and treatment areas
  • Complete scheduled deep cleaning and sanitation tasks within operating rooms, equipment areas, and the pack room
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and back stock of supplies throughout the hospital
  • Follow all sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and hospital safety protocols with exceptional attention to detail
  • Support hospital-wide cleaning, stocking, and organization projects during downtime
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient care
Qualifications

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the duration of a shift
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile processing, and sterilization procedures preferred
  • CRCST and/or CBSPD certification preferred but not required
  • Prior veterinary specialty, surgical, sterile processing, or hospital support experience preferred but not required
  • Commitment to supporting a culture of compassion, teamwork, continuous learning, and exceptional patient care
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
